Re: A stroll down memory lane

I think I was the only fan of "That Was The Week That Was" in my little hometown in the Ozarks, which was probably the earliest sign that I would move to Washington for my career. In college I was in NROTC and hummed Phil Ochs' "I ain't a marchin' anymore", "One More Parade"and "Power and Glory" during drill. Songwriters, both humorous and topical, have been able to get me to examine my beliefs far more easily than any amount of determined argument by others. We could do well to encourage and promote another generation of singer-songwriters in this tradition.
