Re: What do Digby & Bill Buckley have in common?
by
JC
I hear this every six months or so.
But there simply aren't in place, culturally, or as a matter of policy, any means to deal with this situation.
Politicians need money, get money from corporation, corporations ask for favors for such money, send in their lobbyists to write bills, lobbyists become congressman become lobbyists, and the whole cycle continues.
And this isn't a left/right thing, clearly, because this type of behavior also continued to get worse under Clinton, although less accelerated.
So, it's good to show Buckley reaching his limit - but would he support any corrective policy measures?
