I do agree with the Moose that people shouldn't admire Michael Moore while trying to purge Joe from the party. But I don't agree with this statement of his:
"If donkeys believe that defense of the New Deal, however noble and necessary, is their ticket back to power, then they will be wandering in the wilderness longer than the Lord's Chosen People."
But anti-Joementum people like Josh Marshall are pointing out that there are certains things that all Dems pretty much have to stand firm on, if the party's going to mean anything. It's not that defending the New Deal is the ticket back to power, it's that everyone has to recognize what the Repubs are actually doing in trying to dismantle one of its most important pillairs.
P.S. Even though it's an obvious immature joke for anyone under 40, I do laugh every time Josh refers to Indiana Republican Chris Chocola as "the Count."
