I think Haggai's skepticism is well warranted. I'll believe it when I see it. So far, the Bush team has been very good at saying many of the right things (two state solution, road map, etc), but their actions are almost non-existent.
In my opinion, Sharon does not want peace, or at least his version of peace is so ridiculously one-sided that it is impossible. Given that reality, the Bush team doesn't seem the least bit interested in confronting Sharon or pressuring him in the slightest.
I hope that I am spectacularly wrong on both counts, but something tells me that is also wishful thinking.
