Good distinction (between acting in a way consistent with our principles as opposed to discussing foreign policy in ethical terms). Yes to the former, not so sure on the latter.
And I'm glad you brought Barnett up. The more I think about it the more I wonder if his model holds water. I'm just not convinced that there is a Core. I wonder if we have many more problems with Europe than he acknowledges.
