Re: Creative Destruction
by
nadezhda
Yowser! I'd forgotten how bloody-minded Ledeen is. In his battle against the forces of evil, I think he revels in the "destruction" half of "creative destruction" somewhat more than many of his co-Schumpeterians. I almost prefer his gleeful enumeration of the structures that must be destroyed, the networks of power to be shredded, the puffed up tyrants to be deflated, the egos to be ground into the dust. This is hard work, a revolution worth fighting, a mission that has a goal equal to the effort of total mobilization of American power and purpose. What must follow, after such a violent and destructive endeavor, must be a similar energy of creation, a vigorous rebirth, but surely not an easy labor. At the least a midwife is needed to bring the child to term, and a milk nurse to nurture the babe while the mother is still weak.
What I find more objectionable, somehow, are the Doctors Pangloss. Just start a new garden from scratch and watch the plants grow and flower, with a bit of water, periodic weeding and a spot of fertilizer to get thngs off to a good start.
