I'm sick with a sinus headache and busy with school and Habitat, and so don't have much time or energy for blogging at the moment. I will note, however, that not only is The Gates not saffron, it has also pretty much been done before.

Sorry you're sick. Have you been there?
Thanks

The only comfort I take from it is better this week than the next (JET interview), the one after that (midterms) or the one after that (spring break). Gotta get it over at some point, so it might as well be now.
The shrine is where I spent my New Year's Day two years ago, actually (Jan 2004). The actual shrine itself, being a major destination in the Kyoto area at that time of year, was completely packed, shoulder-to-shoulder, with people waiting to ring the roped bells and cast wishes for good luck in business for the new year, and then there's this path of torii that goes back into the woods behind the temple. I didn't go all the way through it, but it was a pretty amazing place. I'm kind of suprised no one else has noticed the parallels between the Central Park exhibit and the Fushimi Inari before, though... maybe it's just me. Trackbacks
